Only a Breath

Daily we breathe and generally take no thought of it. We can use a breath to focus and calm down, or take a deep breath for song or instrument. We can hold our breath in anticipation or use a breath to help save someone’s life. A breath from God is so much more.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  ~Gen 2:7

One breath, that’s all it took. A personal breath from God and man was more than alive; he had a living soul and self-awareness.  It was a breath that brought a relationship between man and God.

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:”  ~John 20:21-22

One personal breath from Christ and now the disciples had a part of God dwelling within them. It was to be a start of a new relationship with God.

Praise God for the breath of life and living soul He gives us. Praise God, that through His son Jesus Christ, we can enjoy a new life and relationship with God through His Holy Spirit. And to think, it started with a breath.
